Tempo, a new public blockchain developed by Stripe and Paradigm, is expected to launch its mainnet by the end of March, according to sources cited by The Rollup. The launch will feature a dual-track release model, with the retail side focusing on payments and DeFi, while the enterprise side targets agent-based payments, B2B transactions, payroll, remittances, and credit expansion.Notably, the Tempo mainnet will not issue a native token at launch. Instead, the team plans to wait for a more favorable market and regulatory environment to design a token economic model. The new TIP-20 standard will allow users to pay for gas without a native token. Stripe is reportedly playing a key role in integrating partner resources to support the blockchain's implementation.
