1X Technologies, a Norwegian robotics startup backed by OpenAI, has inaugurated a 58,000-square-foot factory in Hayward, California. The facility is set to become a key manufacturing hub for consumer-grade humanoid robots, with an initial annual production capacity of 10,000 units. The company aims to produce 100,000 robots by the end of 2027 and plans to start deliveries before the year's end.In addition to the Hayward site, 1X Technologies is also developing a larger manufacturing facility in San Carlos, California. This expansion underscores the company's commitment to scaling up production and meeting growing demand for humanoid robots.
